From Bartender to Founder & Creative
I began my journey in the nightlife industry in 2016, starting as a shakergirl and quickly moving into roles in marketing, PR, and content management. After over five years of experience in event management, concepting, and marketing for nightclubs all around the world, I transitioned into the advertising industry. Working with creative agencies in Amsterdam and helping brands in need, while also growing my own company, A-Town Agency, a collective of creative freelancers specializing in digital design and web development.
My personal power lies in recognizing the potential and passion in people and bringing together diverse skill sets to deliver exceptional results on all types of creative projects. I’m passionate about collaborating with others and am always inspired by the unique perspectives and talents of my team members. And of course, I do have a set of creative skills of my own…
Relevant Experience
Founder & Creative @ A-Town Agency / 2018 – now
Originally established as a solo venture in 2018, A-Town Agency has evolved into a dynamic Collective of Creative Freelancers. Our team is committed to addressing a diverse range of design challenges, offering customized solutions tailored to meet each client’s unique requirements. Our expertise lies in Branding, Digital- and Web Design, providing enthusiastic and bespoke assistance for every project. Digital Designer @ OpenUp / 2023 – now
In January 2023, I joined OpenUp as their first in-house Digital Designer, contributing to their mission of increasing accessibility to mental health resources. In my role, I collaborate with the Content, Marketing, and Product Teams, holding primary responsibility for all aspects of brand management. As the sole Digital Designer, I oversee and uphold brand consistency while crafting a wide range of visual assets, including event sales banners and UI elements for digital products and campaigns.
UI / UX Designer @ Wayne Parker Kent / 2020 – 2022
As the sole UI/UX Designer at Wayne Parker Kent, I had a range of responsibilities, such as conducting user research, designing user interfaces, and implementing/deploying webpages and platforms for our clients. Noteworthy accomplishments include creating the online magazine Altijd ALDI for ALDI Nederland and developing the content platform Samsung & You for Samsung Nederland. Additionally, I played a pivotal role in redesigning the current Wayne Parker Kent website, ensuring a smooth experience despite the constraints of the CMS. I am currently still assisting Wayne Parker Kent with their digital projects as a freelance UI / UX Designer & Consultant.
Education
Communication & Multimedia Design / Bachelor of Science @ Amsterdam University
- Served as the Master of Media on the board of the study society for a year;
- Selected for the TNW T500 for four consecutive years;
- Completed the ‘Minor Project van je Leven’ with a score of 10, transforming my freelance pseudonym into a creative collective of freelancers;
- Graduated Cum Laude in Q1 of 2021.
Marketing, Sales & Communication / VET Level 4 @ MBO College Hilversum
- Qualified for the accelerated track and completed the program in 2.5 years, graduating in 2016.
Event Management / VET Level 4 @ MBO College Hilversum
- Pursued this program concurrently with ‘Marketing, Sales & Communication’ during my second year of study in 2015, and successfully completed both programs simultaneously in 2016.
